Fulmer seeing plenty of action
Franklin's Easton Fulmer played a season-high 14 minutes in Edinboro's 86-79 win over
Tiffin on Nov. 18, the home opener for the Fighting Scots. Surprised the game was played at all, given the weather.
Anyway, he scored a season high 9 points on 3/4 shooting, including 3/3 from the hinterlands. That must have wowed them up there.
The freshman is seventh on the team in minutes per game at 13.3. He's 6/11 from the floor, including 5/9 from 3-point land. 17 points and 5 boards to go with an assist and steal.
The Boro is on the road Monday, visiting Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester, N.Y.
Aeschbacher to play at Heinz...errr Acrisure
Former Oiler Isaiah Aeschbacher is a contributor on the Beaver Falls football team, which will play unbeaten Steel Valley for the WPIAL 2A title at 4 p.m. Nov. 25 at Acrisure Stadium (formerly known as Heinz Field).
Aeschbacher transferred back to Beaver Falls after his sophomore year at Oil City, where he had been teething in competitive sports since, I believe, seventh grade. He was a promising reserve for the Oilers' D-10 championship teams, and started in varsity basketball as a sophomore after missing his freshman year with a shoulder injury.
Aeschbacher had a big year both offensively and defensively for Beaver Falls in 2021, helping the Tigers to a spot in the WPIAL championship game against Serra Catholic.
The Tigers are 11-1 this season after disposing of third-seeded Sto-Rox, 54-16, on Nov. 18. Aeschabacher scored on a 21-yard pass from Jaren Brickner in the WPIAL semifinal.
Can't find his stats from this season, but last year he had some 800 yards rushing and in one game on defense, five sacks alone. He was named one of the top 20 or 30 players from the Beaver Valley going into this season.
I don't think his stats are quite as glittering this fall (can't find anything), but he is one of many star of stars on that team, which will be looking to win back the title in lost last season.
